Our Ingredients

All of our recipes are inspired by and rooted in nature. We use sustainably sourced, plant-based ingredients and never any man-made or chemical alternatives.

Our bars are made with unique blends of butters and oils with natural exfloiants, clays and essential oils.

Activated Charcoal

Activated Charcoal is a fine powder that has a high surface and area and is very absorbent, which means it can help to remove dirt and other impurities from the skin’s pores.

It can also be particularly effective when used on oily skin and it’s absorbent properties can help in the treatment of acne.

Used in our Tea Tree & Eucalyptus and Blue Cedar & Pine soaps.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is a cactus that secretes a clear gel that when broken off from the rest of the plant, and it’s that gel that has amazing properties when applied to the skin. Aloe moisturises the skin without giving it a greasy feel.

It also helps with sunburn through its powerful healing activity at the epithelial levels of the skin, a layer that covers the body.

We use it in our Hemp & Aloe soap, making it a great choice for after a day of sun and surf.

Almond Shell

Ground almond shell makes a wonderful natural exfoliant. As a scrub in soap it has a gentle abrasive effect which not only helps to deep-cleanse skin, but also stimulates blood circulation.

Used in our Ginger & Lime soap.

Castor Oil

Castor oil is a vegetable oil native to Africa and Asia, and is a common ingredient in lots of soaps and shampoos because of its moisturising properties. We use it as part of the base oils in all of our soaps.

It has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties and is high in Vitamin E, minerals, proteins, and Omega fatty acids making it extra nourishing for skin and hair.

Cedar Wood Essential Oil

Cedarwood essential oil is a substance derived from the needles, leaves, bark, and berries of cedar trees. It’s known for its calming properties and is used in aromatherapy to reduce stress and anxiety. 

When used on the skin, it has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, making it beneficial for skin conditions like acne. When used on the scalp it can also help to reduce and soothe an itchy and dry skin.

We use Virginian Cedarwood essential oil in our Blue Cedar & Pine soap.

Clay

We use a variety of clays in our soaps including Kaolin Clay, coloured French Clays and Fuller’s Earth.

As well as adding colour to the soap, it also serves as a natural, gentle exfoliant, as well as a way to remove oils and impurities from your skin. Its silkiness makes shaving easier, too.

Coconut Milk

Coconut milk soap is found to effectively cleanse the skin without making it dry. Soaps made with coconut milk not only feel great because of the creamy lather, but can help to deep clean the skin by removing all sorts of impurities and while preserving skin’s natural hydration. It’s particularly beneficial as a facial cleanser.

Coconut milk is rich with powerful antioxidants including Vitamin C and Vitamin E that lower the number of harmful free radicals and prevent oxidative damages, which in turn can have anti-aging properties.

We use organic coconut milk in our Coconut Milk & Lemongrass and Unscented soaps.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is one of the main oils used in all of our soaps and is an excellent moisturiser for both the skin and the hair. Coconut oil is a cleanser meaning it has the ability to cleanse the skin of the bacteria and dirt, it also helps to form those big bubbles in the lather.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil

As well as being known for its disticture, fresh scent, the most effective and well-proven benefits of Eucalyptus Essential Oil are its antibacterial, moisturizing, and anti-inflammatory properties. It has also been shown to treat eczema and acne flare-ups but works well on all skin types.

Used in our Tea Tree & Eucalyptus soap

Grapefruit Essential Oil

Grapefruit essential oil is extracted by cold-pressing parts in the fruit's peel. It can help everything from reducing blood pressure and providing stress relief, and when used in soap it

helps maintain smooth looking skin, it can reduce the appearance of cellulite, and helps balance oily skin and hair.

Used in our Peppermint & Pink Grapefruit soap

Ginger Essential OIl

Ginger Essential Oil can soothe redness and irritation on the skin and eliminates bacteria. Its antioxidant properties are known to have a protective effect on the skin, inhibiting the signs of skin damage and aging, such as wrinkles and fine lines.

Used in our Ginger & Lime soap.

Hemp Seed Oil

Hemp oil contains vitamins A, C and E which are key ingredients in skincare to help against the elements and rejuvenate skin for that fresh glow. These vitamins also have anti-ageing properties, whic keep skin looking radiant.

We used Hemp Seed Oil in our Hemp & Aloe soap

Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender oil gently moisturizes skin, and is non-comedogenic for pores. Lavender oil is naturally antibacterial, meaning that it kills acne-causing bacteria that might infiltrate your pores.

Not only does the scent promote relaxation, it also has a calming, and healing effect on the skin, reducing the appearance of blemishes and giving skin a youthful glow.

Used in our Lavender & Litsea soap

Lemongrass Essential Oil

Lemongrass is a tropical, grassy plant used in cooking and herbal medicine. Extracted from the leaves and stalks of the lemongrass plant, lemongrass oil has a fresh, citrus scent

It has purifying properties which make it perfect for skincare. These properties help to remove impurities, detoxify the skin and leave it feeling clean and clear.

Lime Essential Oil

The benefits of essential oil from the humble lime are vast. It’s powerful antioxidant and natural antiseptic. When applied to the skin, its antibacterial abilities help soothe inflamed surfaces and protect.

Litsea Essential OIl

Litsea, or May Chang, essential oil is harvested from the Litsea Cubeba plant, a deciduous tree native to South East Asia, also known as the Mountain Pepper. It’s known for its stimulating aroma and is an ideal skin tonic to nourish and refresh the skin due to its oil firming effect that makes the skin feel radiant.

Used in our Lavender & Litsea soap.

Mango Butter

Mangos are packed with cleansing, astringent properties and when used in soap it helps to wash away dirt without stripping your skin's natural emollients, leaving behind supple skin.

The abundance of Vitamin E and Vitamin C in mangos can help protect your skin from environmental stressors like sunlight, pollution, and even blue light from screens.

We use mango butter in our Peppermint & Grapefruit and Ginger & Lime soaps

Oats

Oats aren’t just a hearty breakfast, it makes a great natural and gentle exfoliant that helps to cleanse skin and remove dead skin cells.

We use organic oats in our Blue Cedar & Pine soap

Olive Oil

Olive oil is a staple in soap making because of its ability to penetrate deep into the skin for maximum moisturisation without clogging pores.

​​Containing polyphenols and oleic acid, olive oil is an effective anti-ager, helping to improve skin tone and texture. 

Because it’s so nourishing and rich in vitamins A and E, olive oil can replenish the oils lost by the skin, giving skin a smoother appearance and helping stimulate new cell growth

Orange Essential Oil

In addition to an irresistible aroma, orange essential oil offers many benefits for skin. The fresh scent is one of Mother Nature's most potent antidepressants in aromatherapy, and when used in soap and skincare products, it boosts circulation in the skin and promotes cell growth.

We use sweet orange essential oil, extracted from the orange skin, in our Lemongrass & Coconut Milk, Blue Cedar & Pine and Peppermint & Grapefruit soaps.

Peppermint Essential Oil

Peppermint oil naturally cleanses the skin and has antiseptic and antibacterial properties. It has a cooling effect which soothes irritation and inflammation due to acne.

The uplifting and cool scents of peppermint essential oil makes our Peppermint & Pink Grapefruit soap a great option for your morning shower.

Petitgrain Essential Oil

Petitgrain essential oil comes from the bitter orange tree by steam distilling the twigs and leaves. It has a fresh, floral scent and when used in soaps it helps to maintain moisture and oil balance of the skin.

Used in our Hemp & Aloe soap.

Pine Essential Oil

Pine essential oil comes from the needles of the pine tree. It’s stimulating, uplifting aroma is known to positively impact the mood by clearing the mind of stress and promoting a positive outlook.

Used in soap, the antiseptic and antimicrobial properties of pine essential oil are known to help soothe skin conditions and its antioxidant properties help to slow the appearance of signs of aging and promote a warming effect by stimulating circulation.

Used in our Blue Cedar & Pine soap.

Sustainable Palm Oil

Palm oil products are a great way to hydrate, moisturize, and protect your skin. The oil protects against the temperature and dryness of the air around you to keep your skin fresh. It is full of vitamins and minerals that contain antioxidants to help to protect your skin and keep it healthy. 

It is also quickly absorbed by your hair and scalp which can help to restore and improve your hair quality.

We use sustainable palm oil approved by the Roundtable For Sustainable Palm Oil in our whole range.
